Nic's Wishlist #2

Hi all!

After seeing many new trends emerge recently - my wish list today is dedicated to those pieces that can add to the clothing you most likely already have in your closet.

As the 90's trend carries on into Autumn/Winter I have noticed its taking the direction and inspiration from the infamous classic - The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Think bold bright prints, caps and oversized clothing as the new way forward. What I love about these items is that they can be worn all together, or you can interchange between them.. Perfect.

This Lazy Oaf top resembles the random graffiti of the opening sequence to the show. Being a mens tee, means it can be worn oversized like a shirt dress or more fitted by going down a size or two. I think this is ideal for wearing alone or with any other simple pieces so that the attention is kept on the print.

90's fashion is all about the kicks. Whether its Nike, Jordan's or Adidas - the newer, the fresher, the better. A lot of trainers back then featured a velcro strap somewhere on the shoe, so when I saw these Kurt Geiger babies, I instantly thought retro and they shot up to the top of my wish list.

I'm in love with chains, you just cant go wrong with them. A tip for keeping it chic and on trend - is to layer several different chains, or opt for something like this multi layered chain from New look. Adding different lengths and styles will keep your accessories interesting and will spice up even the most plain of outfits.

With Patent, PU and Leather everywhere this A/W - this is the perfect investment piece. Being real leather, it does have a price tag of £120  but it WILL eventually pay for itself as it can be dressed up, down, layered or worn on its own. You will be grabbing for it time and time again I promise you.

Summer Scents

I have a weakness for all things that smell sweet and fresh. I do find that the scent of a product really influences whether I buy the product or not and although many things containing perfume aren't always good for the skin, I do often opt for natural scents and minimal chemicals as possible with all things I buy in to.

Whilst my preference of the scents I do and dont like doesn't really change much according to the season - this summer I have found a number of beauty products I am LOVING scent wise. Although I will probably use these for the rest of the year, they will remind me of summer and be ideal for my upcoming holiday to Greece.

1. Nivea lip butter in Raspberry Rose -I am obsessed with this product. It is SO moisturising, adds a beautiful sheen to the lips and smells UN-BELIEVABLE! There is also a caramel/ toffee scented one which smells like I want to eat it but this Raspberry scent for me personally, was very light and fresh scented where as the other is much more heavy and sweet. I dont leave the house without this baby since I got it and I will never look back!!

2. Body Shop Body Mist in Pink Grapefruit - I picked this up whilst it was on offer in store and was torn between this or the Mango scented one. Deciding that I have far too many Mango-ish things I went with this beauty and it smells so summery, so fresh and has a punch of citrus which I absolutely love. It lasts for hours and I have got so many compliments since wearing this!

3. Natural Collections Body Spray in Vanilla - I wear this as a light body spray after I get out the shower or just to boost my favourite perfume sometimes. It is a soft hint of vanilla with a real sweetness to it so if you just fancy a pick me up for a bargain this is definitely for you.

4. Palmers Cocoa Butter - You can't go wrong with the scent of cocoa butter and this is the cream for dry skin that I absolutely swear by! Its an intense hydration for your skin and while it is quite thick, I find it ideal as a night cream and makes my skin feel and smell unbelievable. I would bathe in this stuff if I could!

My collection of beauty smellys is ever growing so you may see a few newbies pop up soon but these are by far my holy grail products whatever the weather!..

What are yours?

Shoe Must Have

Hey all!

Hope your all well :) I'm dropping in for a short and sweet post today..

Many of you may have seen Primark's amazing A/W collection (see here) and to me - I personally think this by far their best collection to date. I've been searching EVERYWHERE for the perfect buckle boot after feeling inspired by fashion house Balenciaga and the vast variety on the high street. These babies caught my eye and I knew they would be perfect for me and at a bargain price of £16, these offer an alternative style with the cut out detail which would look perfect with anything - especially jeans.

No Primark near you? Then here are some alternatives:

1. BooHoo

Beauty Wish list #1

Its no secret that I am an absolute beauty addict. I always buy into the latest products and love experimenting with all kinds of brands whether it be make up or skincare. I have been trying so hard to save my money recently and not indulge into things as I need to get saving for uni - but this coming pay day, I have decided to treat myself to a few bits that I have been lusting after and I thought I'd share those with my fellow beauty junkies.

1. Chanel rouge coco shine lipstick in Boy - I am in love with the rouge coco shine collection. I adore the lipsticks in this range because it is just the perfect balance of colour and moisture for your lips. Its like a lipstick, balm and gloss all in a beautiful little package. 'Boy' is a gorgeous 'your lips but better' shade and it would look amazing on so many skin tones and be perfect for any make up look.

2. MAC lipstick in Sushi Kiss - Coral is the colour of the season and although I am writing this as rain pours outside my window I refuse to believe our summer is already over. This is possibly the most beautiful coral lipstick I have come across and with the matte finish you can add a gloss for a beautiful touch, or keep it simple and very on trend as it is.

3. Magnetic Lash - I have heard rave after rave after rave about this stuff and I am sooo desperate to try it! its very pricey for a mascara with a hefty price tag of £24.99 BUT it supposedly works like magic on your lashes (or so I have heard). One tube is basically a mascara and the next tube are little fibres which stick to the mascara and are then sealed finally with a final coat of the first product. These magic ingredients are said to create fluttery, long, volumised and luscious lashes.

4. MAC lustre drops - I love a good highlighter. I have so many in my collection and my kit that you would think I'm some kind of hoarder. Lustre drops give an illuminating, bronze shimmer to your face and leaves you glowing, fresh faced and overall making a subtle but pretty difference to your make up. If your after a very jlo-esque look - you can even mix a few drops with your foundation for a brightening, beachy effect.

5. OPI's Skyfall collection - Celebrating Skyfall and its release, OPI bought out a beautiful set of colours for Bond fanatics everywhere. Whilst I know this came out some time ago, what I had seen of the collection originally, wasn't what I had expected. After seeing the most amazing gold shimmer on a friend - I knew this had to be mine. Anything glitter and metallic are my best friend so I cant wait to doll up my nails with these!

As you can tell I'm pretty excited for my new purchases and cannot wait to try them all out for myself.. I'd also love to know whats on your wish list at the moment too..

Also, watch this space for many review posts coming soon!

Summer Vibez

Hey all!

I hope you've been enjoying the sun we have been having as much as I have! It feels like ages since I last posted an outfit and I was feeling inspired by this glorious weather to get out and do some blogging, so I put together this cool yet quirky outfit to do some shots before I went out.

I haven't worn my favourite vintage denim shirt in a while and tried to keep this the main part of the outfit. I teamed it with this monochrome crop top which many of you may have seen in Primark. They have so many new designs and styles incorporated on the basic trends, for really affordable prices. Although I have noticed the steep rise in prices, I have also noticed the quality vastly improving - so check out the clearance section for some serious bargains.

I kept the bottom simple with this ASOS wet look skater skirt - I've noticed high shine and patent leather skirts are huge at the moment and have been seen in the likes of Burberry's collection. Its also a real investment piece because it will take you right through to the A/W months, making it amazing value for money.

To finish off the retro vibe I was creating, my final touch was with these boots. The chunky buckles are really statement, and with some fishnet ankle socks, I managed to truly channel my inner 90's spirit in a comfortable, practical way.
