The Perfect Red

A pop of red is such a classic, and theres no denying the power of a bold lipstick. Perfect for both day and night, you can't go wrong with a simple eye and striking lip for faultless, easy make-up. However at the same token, it can be really hard to find that perfect red and with the options being endless, the task becomes so much more difficult.

I seem to have the mentality that it's okay to buy new make-up all the time because if  its not for personal use - its great for my make-up artist kit. This sadly means I often neglect products that I adore as I try out new ones and experiment with numerous shades and brands. Over the festive period, I rediscovered an absolutely beautiful red which I was truly besotted with when I first bought it and the best part? its only £1.

This is a sort of sister post to the one I did on Rouge Rose Petale, where I posted my Christmas Day make-up and discussed the budget friendly products I used. Although I felt this is such a great product that it needed a mention over here too..

Here is the look:

The lighting of the image really brings out the pink tones of the colour but from the swatches below you can see the pigment much clearer.
The lipstick causing all this fuss - is by MUA and is in the lovely shade 13.

It is a very rich, deep based red which I would say has a vibrant berry undertone making it perfect for A/W. When applied generously, the colour pay off is exactly as you see in the bullet, but with lip balm and just small dabs, this will allow a very soft hint of red to brighten up a daytime appropriate look. The formulation is creamy, moisturising and so easy to work with - allowing general fuss free touch ups and application. The value for money is undeniable and I really feel you cant go wrong with this colour whatever skin tone or whatever budget you are on.. for £1 its an absolute steal!

I hope you all had a wonderful christmas!

Brilliant Earth: Personality Style Challenge

Hi all, I was recently contacted by Brilliant Earth to participate in a style challenge where I and a few other bloggers have been selected.  For those of you who do not know who Brilliant Earth is they are a Jewellers co founded by Beth Gerstein and Eric Grossberg, whose main aim and mission is to create conflict free jewellery sourcing diamonds and gems from realiable conflict free sources.  This is such a great business as small changes can make a big impact, also their jewellery is divine especially their sapphires just a bonus as its my birthstone. In this challenge I was asked to create a pinterest board based on a personality whether it be mine, a friend or just using my creative juices to style an outfit using Brilliant Earth jewellery.
I chose myself from the image below we had to select a theme most like the personality we are basing it on. I chose the cutting edge option as I felt it represents me the most, also I love sapphires so the perfect outfit came to mind from this. To see my Pinterest board click the link below. :D

This Christmas..

I am having a festive field day on both here and my personal blog Rouge Rose Petale because, well it only comes once a year so why not?!

If however, you are not one that enjoys christmas, then I apologise for the inability to escape all the celebrations around you but I do hope you are having a good time whatever you are getting up to.

I just wanted to create a short but sweet post where I have compiled the best parts of my recent festive posts as maybe some last minute inspiration or to possibly get you in the spirit as we only have a mere 5 days to go! aahh!

All these images are taken by me and are from both Ruby Sapphire and Rouge Rose Petale. I'm keeping all my fingers crossed that Santa leaves a lovely camera under the christmas tree as I can't wait to keep taking beautiful photos for my posts in the new year and onwards.

As a final note, you may have noticed that GFC is being rather temperamental with its      persistent coming and going.. so don't forget to follow us via bloglovin' to stay updated.

Finally, I just wanted to wish you all a very merry christmas.. I hope you have an amazing time with your loved ones and stay safe!

Winter Wishlist

With Christmas just around the corner my wishlist grows ever longer and the opening of MSSVG a new British plus size online store who brought one of my favourite brands they have amazing prints, who have been on my purchase list for a long while RUE 114 Yayyy! I could not pass up the opportunity to create a wishlist board around one of their items, this gorgeous Egyptian inspired print skirt its so unique and can be dressed up and down. I opted for a simple black wetlook crop top, the slashed sleeves add a little oomph as you ease off the jacket. This MYNT1792 Coat I have been eyeing up for a while, it is from their blogger collection Allison the blogger who made this created a fantastic interchangeable coat that can be worn many different ways bonus! I paired this outfit with a statement necklace and simple but sexy black heels as I would want the skirt and the jacket to be my main focal point. Hopefully Christmas brings some of these items my way but if not I will be saving till I get them to good to miss.
